A BILL to amend and reenact section six, article nine, chapter
seventeen-c of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to moving traffic
regulations generally and increasing the penalty for failure
of a driver to yield the right-of-way.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That section six, article nine, chapter seventeen-c of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 9. RIGHT-OF-WAY.
§17C-9-6. Misdemeanor to violate provisions of article; penalty.





Any person violating the provisions of this article is guilty
of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not
more than one hundred dollars; upon a second conviction within one
year thereafter, shall be fined not more than two hundred dollars;
and upon a third or subsequent conviction, shall be fined not more
than five hundred dollars shall be fined not more than two hundred dollars; upon a second conviction within one year thereafter, shall
be fined not more than three hundred dollars; and upon a third or
subsequent conviction, shall be fined not more than one thousand
dollars.
